Axon is guided by six core values to accomplish its ambitious mission to protect life. Axon faced a significant challenge in fostering and maintaining a culture aligned with these core values. It was realized that it is important to maintain a culture that pushes for employee development and career growth and that seeks to harness the full potential of the company’s workforce. The organization recognized the need to empower decision makers, enhance collaboration, promote complete work ownership, and establish a well-flowing work system, with a particular focus on its core values.
To address this challenge, Axon leaders needed trainings that could effectively convey these behaviors to a predominantly young workforce, replacing traditional approaches with a modern, engaging, and informal style to make learning both enjoyable and effective.
Constellar Consulting devised a series of learning videos to effectively communicate the message to all employees in a quick, digestible manner, and in a language that's simple, sincere, and impactful. These videos covered four pivotal topics essential for cultivating a positive work culture.
The videos featured insights from influential stakeholders at Axon enhanced with compelling visuals to effectively communicate key learnings. The videos helped define and encourage cultural behaviors like teamwork, communication, respect, and accountability. They also provided practical tips for integrating these behaviors into daily work routines, ultimately contributing to a positive workplace culture, increased employee engagement, higher retention rates, and an enhanced brand image.
The presence of the stakeholder at relevant junctions, powerful illustrations and icons, infographics to explain processes, intriguing analogies, and efficient use of typography made the videos an immersive learning experience.
Videos as a learning modality offered accessibility, cost-efficiency, and adaptability, making them ideal for diverse learners and message delivery. They excelled in engagement, making a powerful impact and facilitating storytelling to convey behavior, emotion, and culture effectively.
Around 50% of Axon employees (approx. 1500) viewed the videos. The high-quality culture videos communicated values, boosted morale, and increased results orientation and ownership at Axon. The employees benefited from concise and impactful video content, fostering motivation to align with promoted behaviors. Axon's unconventional use of real stakeholders in eLearning proved highly effective, deepening the learner's connection with the content, and enhancing training quality. This approach highlighted trust in employees and spurred commitment to personalized learning experiences.
The Axon Leadership observed overall positive changes due to these videos contributing to Axon's goal of protecting lives. With the right planning, execution, and promotion, the culture videos became a powerful tool for building Axon’s brand and strengthening their team.
